About the Travel Guide

This travel guide was created by Caucasus Explorer. Our company conceived this project to respond to the hospitality of the highlanders, to support the urban development of Tskhinval, and help to preserve the traditional way of life in the villages.

When going on a trip to South Ossetia, remember that you will be a guest there, not a tourist. Be prepared for both the advantages and disadvantages of this situation.

We have tried to give you the information you need to plan and organize your own trip to South Ossetia. However, should you have any questions, we would be happy to answer them or even arrange a tour for you.

P.S.: Many thanks to all people who took part in creating this guide: scientists (Denis Beletskiy, Alexey Chibirov, Olga Barashko), journalists and photographers (Anastasiya Stepanova, Vladimir Sevrinovsky, Anton Agarkov), editor Dmitry Beglyarov , designer Sofya Azjeurova, cartographer Polina Golovko and many people of South Ossetia who treated us as guests and helped us without any hope of sucсess.
